About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Store Person to join a busy cold storage and food distribution environment.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working as part of a team and is comfortable with manual handling, warehouse operations and forklift work.

Previous experience working in a cold environment is highly advantageous, however, candidates with strong warehouse or stores experience who are willing to work in a cold environment are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, check and record incoming goods against consignment notes
  • Sort, scan, shift and stack various stock and cartons
  • Pick and collate customer orders for delivery
  • Operate forklifts and other load-shifting equipment safely
  • Collect and collate stock, weights and pricing information
  • Assist with stocktakes and reporting
  • Liaise with the administration, Food Service and Wholesale teams
  • Assist with deliveries and direct delivery personnel and visitors
  • Use RF scanners to accurately record and track stock
  • Support production and delivery operations
  • Perform regular manual handling, including lifting, sorting and stacking cartons
  • Assist with equipment maintenance where required
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety
  • Follow all Safe Work Procedures, Work Instructions, WHS and QA policies
  • Demonstrate a hands-on approach to problem solving

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current Forklift Licence
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, cold storage, food distribution or similar environment
  • Previous experience working in a cold environment is highly advantageous
  • Experience using RF scanners
  • Experience with manual handling and repetitive lifting
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, safety-focused and proactive approach to work
  • Basic product and stock knowledge
